Loading Hello All: This site is supporting our 2007 New Years Eve Chili Cook Off benefiting the Central Iowa Shelter! We're throwing down the gauntlet to find the best chili in the Des Moines metro while supporting those for whom New Years might be another night without something to eat. I'm hosting a party at our home in Clive that evening but some of us will disappear between 6PM and 8PM to feed 120 people with a hearty meal of chili, corn bread, crackers, milk, and juice. I'm super excited to lead this charge. Steph and I put our heads together on this idea and then it hit us...we'd probably end up with enough food to feed the masses...and that's what we're going to do.
Below, you'll see a quick response form indicating your preferences on what you might bring or the extent to which you may want to participate. If you simply want to come to the party, of course don't feel obligated. Just get ready to eat some of the best hot, sweet, mild, and uniquely constructed chili you've ever had. Judging will be done by me (the host's privilege) and a panel of "experts".
More details will emerge on the party itself...but start looking at your plans and see if this is something you can do. Crash space will be made available in the man cave for those who over imbibe. This party will be as family friendly as it can be and will go as late as you'd like with crash space for little ones in our kids rooms up stairs if you can make it until Midnight.
